It's a long hot drive from Phoenix to Boulder,
She almost missed the turn,
As she was starting to nod,
Somewhere on that stretch of painted desert,
The Spirit rose up as the wait came on.
She is sunshine,
Her heart is big like the sky,
She's an Angel,
Waiting on her time to fly.
City sky now fades into the Sunset,
Her old friends have all become,
As aggresive as the heat,
9 hours North the mountains are waiting,
And the trees have been busy,
Making air for her to breathe.
She is sunshine,
Her heart is big like the sky,
She's an Angel,
Waiting on her time to fly.
High upon the top of the mountain,
There's no sign of all the drama,
Just as far as you can see,
Didn't say goodbye cause,
She gotta go back some day,
But she'll do it all again for this moment to be free.
She is sunshine,
Her heart is big like the sky,
She's an Angel,
Waiting on her time to fly.
She is sunshine,
Her heart is big like the sky,
She's an Angel,
Waiting on her time to fly.
